At the Met Gala 2023 that took place this Monday in New York, Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Caroline of Monaco, proved that she knew how to handle the codes of sensuality in a vintage Chanel openwork dress.
One the questions that we’ve been asking ourselves this season is the following: how can we adopt the transparent trend without looking naked and doing too much? Charlotte Casiraghi proposed elements of answer on the red carpet of the Met Gala Monday night in New York. The 36-year-old horsewoman took the opportunity of the social gathering to try this stylistic exercise very popular with the stars. However, no question of being as unbridled as a Madonna whose thong revealed in transparency had marked the 2016 edition of the Gala. Charlotte Casiraghi offers a version of the transparent dress well to her, all in subtlety.

The Chanel ambassador naturally opted for a piece from the brand's archives to pay tribute to the man of the hour. She wore a black silk lace dress designed by Karl Lagerfeld for haute couture in the fall-winter of 1996-1997. Totally transparent, the piece is cleverly worn with a tight black jumpsuit, also in silk, which allows to hide the most intimate parts of the body from view. While not obstructing the play of light allowed by the delicate openwork of the lace.
The nobility of art
In the past, in an attempt to shine at the dazzling fashion party, some personalities of the aristocracy have also tried their hand at transparency. Queen Rania of Jordan, in 2016, opted for a dress in "thousand leaves" of tulle and embroidered. The following year, it was Princess Beatrice of York who tried a modest game of transparency, in a royal blue dress with Victorian collar, also largely lined. "Be "politically correct" but don't knock out the others with it", said Karl Lagerfeld. An instruction that his long-time friend Charlotte Casiraghi hastened to apply.
