Does Tiktok’s Rice Water hair hack really work?

It’s not a first. Since its launch in 2016, during its peaks in the lockdowns, and right now, Tiktok has never stopped to shower us with hero beauty hacks and products. While some hacks could look “too good to be true”, others actually become the real deal and we include them in our routines (the blush technique and L’oreal’s infallible powder are one of these).

Recently we’ve been seeing our favorite dinner staple all over Tik Tok: Rice. According to all influencers and bloggers who couldn’t wait to hop on the trend, treating your hair with rice water is a hero technique for shinier, healthier and more voluminous hair, so we tried it as well.

If you want the step-by-step technique and the results, keep scrolling and learn all about rice water.

In fact, the use of rice water is a long-living beauty ritual in ancient Asian culture, according to specialists, so why not?

Results?

Well, after trying the rice water technique, we can honestly say that we will be doing it twice a month to get the best out of it.

Does it make your hair smoother?

I am the kind of person who can never put her hand in her hair because my fingers would tangle inside, but thanks to this technique I can do that even though it might still tangle a bit but it is way smoother.

Does it make your hair grow faster?

Couldn’t tell my opinion on that because since I started it (a month ago), my hair length is still the same. Even experts do not give clear answers on this because the researches haven’t found anything yet.

Does it make your hair shinier?

With rice being highly concentrated in starch, rice water doesn’t only make your hair look healthier but also gives a brightness and makes it appear fuller and have fewer split ends.
