They are both big references in their respective careers; Pat McGrath is a British makeup star who chose the queen of runways Naomi Campbell to be the face of her new makeup collection “Divine Rose”.
This is probably the most delightful collaboration that happened this spring. Pat McGrath, who’s known for creating unforgettable runway looks (Valentino & Versace for example), has just revealed the first-ever global face of Par McGrath Labs: Naomi Campbell.
The 90’s Iconic model never stops to prove that she’s anything but fleeting. In fact, both women, Naomi and Pat, have been friends for 25 years, and they worked together many times, no surprise that such collaboration was going to happen one day, as their careers are linked, and each one represents success in her own field.
For the make-up artist, who founded her brand in October 2017, this choice seemed obvious: "Naomi's beauty is not to be compared, but what makes her really special and perfect for McGrath's muse, it is her legendary loyalty, his unequalled work ethic and amazing soul. It would be an understatement to say that I am blessed to call her a friend. I am honored to be part of her journey, as a pioneer in beauty and fashion”
The supermodel also shared her admiration and the bond they share: “Pat is my chosen family and she’s an incredible creative force in the beauty industry. She has been in my life since the beginning of my career… There is no one other than the iconic Pat McGrath with whom I would like to embark on this journey."
In the first shots of the campaign shared on Pat’s Instagram account, we can see a mini video, done by the makeup brand founder, which begins with a quote from Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.
Then a rose appears to be blooming inside Naomi Campbell’s eye which drops a few gold tears. Like a saint who just escaped from a barocco-pop painting, Naomi Campbell is crowned with a halo and golden wings, all adorned with roses.
The “Divine Rose” collection, which is available on the brand’s website since 29 May, is also available on Sephora starting this month. The collection includes 3 Mothership Eye Palette, including one Limited edition, as well as Lip trio which consists of MatteTrance lipstick, Lust gloss and PermaGel Ultra lip liner.
