Like every other event, Paris Fashion week was also affected by the coronavirus. The event that kicked off on September 28, will present collections both physically and digitally.
In addition to all the spins occurring to the event, steps have been taken by the Arab Fashion Council (AFC) to ensure Arab designers get their chance in presenting their collection on a large platform. In collaboration with Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, the AFC is set to host a special showroom and presentation that will be part of the official Paris Fashion Week calendar and spotlight designers from the Arab region.
“The project is in line with the Arab Fashion Council’s vision to build an Arab economy based on creativity and to promote the Arab talents on a global scale” Says Mohammed Aqra, Chief Strategy Officer of the AFC.
The showroom will officially open on September 30th, alongside shops such as Dior and Fendi on Paris’ Rue Saint-Honore. Participating designer include the Lebanese duo Azzi & Osta, the Lebanese footwear Poise Design, Emergency Room Beirut, Aboud Jammal a graduate of ESMOD, the Lebanese womenswear label Ecaille, alongside the Jordanian label Mada’En and hand-made jewelry brand Saad Collection.
