Chloé Creative Director Natacha Ramsay-Levi Is Leaving After Four Yeats

Luxury label Chloé has just announced the departure of its artistic director who had renewed the image of the Chloé girl.
The news broke today: Natacha Ramsay-Levi, who for four years served as Creative Director of the house founded by Gaby Aghion, is stepping down. “I do this with a sense of hope for the development of this great brand and its renewed commitment to meaningful and powerful femininity” she said. “During the last months of health, social and economic turmoil, I have reflected on the changes I want to see in our industry and how to better align them with my own creative, intellectual and emotional values. It is this reflection that makes me see my future differently and desire to pursue new opportunities ".
At forty, this pretty brunette with vague resemblance to Joan Baez had already spoken during the first confinement on the inconsistencies of a system pushing to produce more and more, and therefore decided to take a step back. In four years, she had redesigned the Chloé girl with a more radical femininity than that sketched by Clare Waight Keller who had preceded her in the house. A creative vision no doubt inherited from all her years spent alongside Nicolas Ghesquière, of whom she was first the right-hand at Balenciaga, then at Louis Vuitton. Demanding and visionary, she succeeded in Chloé at freeing herself from the master and redefining a romantic, powerful, arty, cerebral and modern woman, all at the same time. We do not yet know who will replace her at Chloé but one thing is certain, this fashion enthusiast should not stay out of the picture for long.
