The Lyst research platform has just unveiled the names of the personalities who have most influenced the fashion industry in2020. While Kate Middleton takes the ninth position, Harry Styles takes the lead.
At the end of every year, Lyst platform unveils its Fashion ranking. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the names of the most popular fashion brands of recent months, as well as the list of the ten most influential celebrities of the year in the textile industry. This year, singer Harry Styles won the gold medal, taking the first place in the list and replacing Meghan Markle who was Lyst’s best fashion influencer in 2019. The 26-year-old artist has therefore moved up eight places in the list from last year, far ahead of Kate Middleton, who entered this prestigious list in the ninth position.
Crazy fashion year for Harry Styles
The Duchess of Cambridge is very powerful in terms of fashion influence, which means Harry Styles was even more impactful. And there's no shortage of evidence on that: just 24 hours after the release of his music video Golden, searches for blue and turquoise blazers jumped 52% on Lyst, and searches for yellow bobs by 92%. In February, the British singer even managed to create the #HarryStylesCardigan challenge on TikTok after wearing a JW Anderson mesh cardigan.
A dress style with a retro aesthetic that also led him this year to participate in the GucciFest project. A few weeks earlier, he became the first male personality to make headlines in American magazine Vogue wearing a dress, which surely caused controversy on Twitter. While fashion is a medium in which Harry Styles thrives, he also uses it to blur the boundaries of the genre whenever he gets the chance.
