Isabel Marant Spring 2021 Show
An ode to happier times

Designer Isabel Marant chose to present her Spring Summer 2021 collection in a physical show full of energy and sensitivity.
With or without a pandemic, some things will never change, just like Isabel Marant’s wardrobe that was presented on Thursday evening during one of the rare physical parades maintained in Paris Fashion Week.
However, during this Covid-19 period, we can’t but note the strong and more personal message delivered by Isabel Marant. The designer brought her response to an era dictated by the virus, with a show full of encounter, energy and sensitivity. No “protective” clothing were seen as the designer offered an anti-depression approach and expressed it with the dance troupe (LA)HORDE and ultra-tonic colors. Free and rebellious vibes were felt in the show.
The Setup
Few people (200 at most) gathered around a wooden platform installed in the gardens of the Palais Royal. This time, no dedicated seats, the sitting was free, while respecting the rules of hierarchies between guests. Among guests, discussions were held on the fashion industry’s situation in between everything happening, among which the health crisis.
The Dance
Dancing was Isabel Marant’s answer to all questions. Noting that we rarely see performances on the runways, but when they happen, they just blow minds away. And that was exactly was happened on Thursday evening when (LA) HORDE gave the real meaning to expressing ourselves and unleashing our inner soul. A way to ensure the need of regaining physical contact again.
The Collection
We have seen rhythm, what Isabel Marant is well-known for, and harmony in colors featuring pink, fuchsia, red, electric blue and others, which gave life to high waist and big shoulders silhouettes. Harmony and rhythm were there also with mini-dresses, sequins, leather cowboy boots, belted armored jackets, lamé, jumpsuits, floral prints ... obviously everything to escape any kind of suffering we might go through.
