During their interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan and Harry confirmed that they’re expecting a baby girl. Meanwhile, an interview by the actress in 2015 is coming to the lights again and is giving us a sweet and touching clue about this long-awaited baby.
From Queen Alexandra to Lady Diana and the Duchess of Sussex, Cartier has been a royal favorite for more than a century. Named “Jeweler of Kings and King of Jewelers” by King Edward VII, the French Jewelry house went even far to get the coveted title of official purveyor of jewels to the crown.
Tank Française Watch - Cartier
Cartier is behind the most prominent jewels of the Queen (including a tiara worn by Kate Middleton on her wedding day), and also those of Meghan and Harry, as well as of the most beautiful pieces owned by Wallis Simpson. If Prince Harry inherited the Cartier Tank Française in yellow gold that Prince Charles had given to Lady Diana, there is also a second watch that will soon be also a part of the Sussex family.
Long before meeting Harry, Meghan Markle told Hello! Magazine in 2015 that she bought herself in 2012 the Cartier watch she had always dreamed of. 'I’ve always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch. When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version.” Meghan had then the watch engraved in the back "To M.M. From M.M", as she was already planning on giving this timeless and iconic watch to her daughter one day.
Clearly, the Sussexes are both excited to be having a girl. "Grateful, having any child, any one or a two would have been amazing, but to have a boy and then a girl ... now we've got our family and we've got four of us," Harry told Oprah during the famous interview.
