Kuwaiti fashionista Rawan Bin Hussain expressed anger after being criticized because she did not show solidarity with the Palestinian cause recently.
The beauty mogul and fashionista who is often described as Kuwait’s “Brooke Shields” due to her attractive features and resemblance with the iconic American actress, and who became one of the most prominent influencers in the region with 5.6 million followers on her Instagram account isn’t actually going through her best moments.
During the last few days, she has been criticized for neglecting the Palestinian cause and some of her followers accused her of not showing solidarity with the Palestinians against the attacks from Israeli army.
The fashionista, who is well-known for her shocking statements, revealed another news concerning her family and her bond to Palestine. In a Snapchat video where she was explaining the situation and justifying herself, she said that her mother is Palestinian and her uncle is a martyr.
And in response to everyone who criticized her, Rawan clarified:
“We are all mourning and in pain. Palestine is part of us. Before being half Palestinian, and before being Arab, I am a human being and I am definitely against injustice, persecution, and the theft of lands by occupiers, and I am surely in pain as I witness the injustice and the theft of a proper childhood of the Palestinians children. We are all in pain, but what can I do?"
Rawan is not only an Arab celebrity, she is also a mother of a baby girl named Luna, and she took off from this point to explain that she feels the pain of all the Palestinian mothers and children. The Kuwaiti beauty, in an exclusive interview with our website a few months ago, had described motherhood as an “overwhelming feeling”: “You can never get over it. It's an overwhelming feeling. You never can get used to it. Every single day when I see my daughter, I get goosebumps. I still can't get my head around the idea that this little creature was inside me for nine months. Truly a blessing”.
And to those who sent her insulting messages, she replied:
“After you see my videos, do not say anything!”, and she continued: “Even though I am among the people who post daily about Palestine on Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat, I still receive insults and sometimes some people just cross the line when it comes to my family”.
The young entrepreneur and mother chose to finish off with emphasizing on the fact that she’s not seeking to please anyone but herself, and she made sure everyone knows that her patriotism and humanity are not to be questioned. The Kuwaiti mom couldn’t hide her feelings, saying “as a mother because every Palestinian mother suffers now and is terrified for their children".
The Kuwaiti beauty, who also faced large criticism a few months ago, because of her issues with her ex-husband, is well-known for the bold statements she makes. It first happened when she opened up about her problems with her husband and accused him of being a “narcissistic psychopath” and that he was so abusive that she had to seek therapy.
