The Evolution of Apple Watch Hermès

We all remember the sparkle that surrounded the announcement of Apple and Hermès collaboration, which was kept as a secret until the last minute…, five years ago. Let’s have a look at the highlights that punctuated this perfect harmony between the luxurious materials signed by Hermès and the best-selling smart watch in the world.
In March 2015, Apple was making another hit in marketing its new digital watch for iPhone 5 and 6. After the first wave of success, Tim Cook, CEO of the electronic giant, launched in September 2015 the perfect match between its small high-tech miniature and the elegant leather of Hermès. It was an outstanding Apple WatchHermès, first launched in minimalist colors before being available later in multiple fancy and printed designs reflecting Hermès’ spirit.
Series 1
Launched in 2015, the first version of this collaboration won over its audience thanks to its timeless curves with essential chic. A simple or double tourperfect for everyday use, made even more desirable by the warmth of itsBarénia leather which wraps around the wrist withease. Few months later, a new set of additional bracelets were sold individually to complete this digital watch, adorned with a design paying a tribute to the iconic lines of the Cape Cod, Espace or Hermès Clipper from the saddlery house.
Series 2
The second version of Apple Watch Hermès was characterized by the new volume displayed through a new double buckle cuff, in soft Swift calfskin or textured Epsom calfskin. However, the real innovation behind the Series 2 of the smart watch was that it wasnow waterproof. Taking a dive was never better with an orange sports bracelet with neon impulse.
Series 3
The bandana print or the Éperon d'Or band, which grab all the attention, came to meet another Hermès’ icons defining the 2017 edition of the smart watch. A new rebel leather strap, embellished with pointed studs of the Medor collection, which was an iconic design of the luxury house since the 1930s. This new design came to spice up the smart watch which was equipped with cellular connectivity. Making a phone call or sending an email without having a phone in your hand was possible.
Series 4
Indigo, orange or flashy pink, this is the new pop color chart added in 2018 to the new “lifted” Apple Watch Hermès. It wasdesigned with an all-over gradiant color reaching the band and the frame. Behind this fancy design, the smart watch was updated with health applications, ranging from tracking heart rate to making emergency calls, via monitoring physical activity.
Series 5
Black art. A chromatic audacity with a more dramatic and sophisticated touch, designed by Pierre Hardy, Hermès’ creative director of shoes and jewelry from Hermès, along with faces designed for the Always-On Retina display. Access all the information captured by this small high-tech device, with a glance. All we have to do is have some patience before discovering the new face of Apple Watch Hermès Series 6.
