Some of the hottest jewelry trends of the '90s are back and we can't get enough of the pop-inspired plastic rings, the cute anklets and the colorful earrings. Paying homage to this iconic decade and its revival, Lebanese jewelry brand L’Atelier Nawbar and Lebanese fashion blogger Nathalie Fanj have joined forces to create a capsule collection consisting of six unique rings, reminiscing and reviving the 90s’ fashion and style glory.
Aptly named Jem Pop, the capsule collection replicates and draws inspiration from the much-loved vibrant plastic jewelry of the 90s, which are now back in style thanks to celebs like Dua Lipa and Bella Hadid.
Both the Nawbar creative directors, sisters Dima and Tania Nawbar, together with Nathalie Fanj are full-on 90s kids who grew up loving the decade’s trends. “I remember growing up in the 90s and being so inspired by my sisters who were teenagers then and how they dressed,” says Fanj. “I own a lot of clothing items and jewelry from the 90s that I will never stop wearing.”
The six rings are all gold-plated statement pieces that are handmade by fine jewelry artisans featuring enameling techniques with intricate detailing. The collection finds inspiration from cassette tapes, a gadget that is now considered vintage, a yin-yang sign, an eye, a heart in two different color combinations and a smiley face.
Collaborating on this capsule collection comes at a time where Lebanese talents find themselves reaching for creativity for relief and to bolster and support one another after a year of turbulence and hardship for the country and its residents. The collection is available here.
